This intricate undertaking involved the engagement of freight forwarding services for the export of 10 Passenger Coaches and associated spares from India to Mozambique. This wasn't a standard shipment; it was a testament to meticulous planning and flawless execution, spanning thousands of kilometers by both road and sea.

The Journey: From Raebareli to Maputo

The cargo's journey began in the heart of Uttar Pradesh, at the Modern Coach Factory (MCF) in Raebareli, with additional spares originating from Delhi. Our team took charge from the very first mile, ensuring the safe and efficient road transportation of these valuable assets to Mumbai Sea Port.

This road leg alone presented unique challenges, requiring specialized vehicles to handle:

• Containerized trucks and trailers for the spares.

• ODC (Over-Dimensional Cargo) solutions for the large passenger coaches themselves, necessitating careful route planning and specialized permits.

• Breakbulk handling for elements that couldn't fit into standard containers.

Upon arrival at Mumbai, our expertise in export customs clearance came to the forefront, navigating the intricate regulations to ensure a smooth transition for the diverse cargo.

Across the Ocean: To Maputo, Mozambique

From Mumbai, the consignment embarked on its extensive ocean freighting journey to Maputo Sea Port, Mozambique, executed on a CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) basis. This meant comprehensive responsibility for the cargo until its arrival at the destination port, including securing appropriate insurance and managing all freight charges.

The total weight of the shipment, an impressive 359 metric tons, underscored the scale of this operation and the need for robust cargo handling and lashing techniques for secure sea transit.
